That made me laugh. I'll be honest, I kind of glazed over your article the first time around, sort of confusing it with the Debbie Gibson giant shark movie. Boy, was I wrong.
Roger Corman himself is directing. Does he direct much anymore?
What I like about this is it looks more like a shark ripping through a starfish.

I think they probably got their credits mixed - I'm betting Corman is only producing, or maybe executive producing. Like on this feature premiering March 13:
Yes, it's Dinoshark! _________________ Leeeeroyyy Jenkins!!! |

I'm no expert on octopus movement but don't they move in bursts of quickness and then sort of flail around, then burst again? It seems to me the terrifying thing about sharks is their ability to zip in, grab your torso, nom nom nom, and then a wave of the fin and they're history.
Wouldn't adding all those appendages kind of slow it down? Now Moleman's dinoshark, that's something to keep an eye out for. But it's pretty much the same shark mouth with a touch of Sam Neil-ness.

It would be fantastic if this movie has a blatantly ripped off 'Quint' character...
Got that image here and not sure how recent it was but I like the idea of owning Quint's machete!

This is why Corman gets the big bucks.
| Quote: | | So I set up this situation. The Navy is worried, as many people are, by the actions of the Somali pirates. By terrorists who operate out of small boats coming ashore. the Navy can not officially go into those waters. So they commissioned a company I named "Blue Water" [laughs] — a bio-engineering company — to create a half-shark, half-octopus, with implants in its brain, so it can be controlled. And so it can go into those waters with the Somali pirates operating in small boats, and with its tentacles grab those boats, turn it over, and then the shark would eat the pirates. That's the premise. From there on in, I have to say, what can a Sharktopus do, and be as logical as I can, figuring the audience will accept that frankly fantastic premise, which almost sounds logical. |
Almost. |

The lead actor in Sharktopus has been cast.
Hint: rhymes with Shmeric Shroberts. _________________ "Yes, I did it. I killed Yvette. I hated her so... much... it... it... the... it... the... fee... flames... flames... on the side of my face... heaving... breathless... heaving breaths..." |
